Your customer number links all your EnergyAustralia accounts together. So, if you have multiple energy accounts in your name then they’ll all have the same customer number.
Your account number is a unique identifier for your gas account. This is the number to quote if you contact us about this account or make a payment via the phone.
The service address is where your gas meter(s) is located and the address for which you will be billed.
The amount due from your last gas bill.
Payments made towards your last gas bill.
This is an amount still owing or payments you’ve made that were greater than what was owed on your last gas bill.
Here you’ll see the total amount you’ve been charged for this billing period and the total amount payable – with and without any applicable discounts. All amounts include GST.
The total amount due is the amount payable (incl. GST). This amount includes any payments made towards your account or balances that have been carried forward from your previous gas bill.

We’ve also included the number to call for gas supply faults and emergencies. This will be the number for your local distribution company which own the pipes and meters in your area.

If we can’t access your gas meter to obtain an actual meter read then we’ll have to use estimated reads to calculate your bill. This will be clearly stated on the front page of your bill.

You can also provide your own meter reading. Your own meter reading will be shown as an estimate on your next bill because we will pro-rata your own reading to align with the original estimated bill dates.

This shows the start and end dates of the period of time covered in your bill.
Your MIRN is the Meter Identification Reference Number. It’s a unique number used by us and your distribution company to identify the gas meter at your premises.
Note – In NSW, this number is called a DPI (Delivery Point Identifier).
Tariff relates to the type of meter at your premises. The type of tariff determines the plans or products available and the rates you’re charged for your gas usage.
Your meter number is unique to the gas meter at your premises. Your meter measures the amount of gas you use over a period of time.
This is the number of days covered in your bill.
This is the energy consumption recorded by your gas meter at the end of the current billing period.
Note - if your meter wasn’t able to be read, then your energy consumption will be based on an estimated reading (including if you’ve submitted your own reading).
Different meters show usage information differently.
This is the energy consumption from your last gas bill.
This measures in megajoules per hour (Mj) how much gas you’ve used (or an estimate of how much you’ve used) between your last bill and your current bill.
Your charge or rate is how much you pay for each Mj used (incl. GST).
The total cost of your gas (incl. GST).
The supply charge is the cost per day (incl. GST) charged by your distribution company for providing you with gas (including the maintenance of pipes and meters).
We apply government concessions and rebates to eligible accounts.
This is the total amount you need to pay (incl. GST). It doesn’t include any pay on time discount (if applicable).
This shows a date range for when your next meter reading is scheduled to take place. You should receive your next bill shortly after this date range.
This graph shows your gas usage over time. It may help you understand how much gas you have consumed.
Average daily use is the average amount of gas you used each day for this billing period. Same time last year is the average gas you used each day for the same time last year. And Average cost per day shows the average cost of gas you have used each day for this billing period.
The average gas you consumed each day for the same time last year. This will show you if there has been an increase or decrease in your average gas use.
Depending on how and when you use gas will determine how much your bill will be. You may notice that during winter your gas bill is higher due to increased use of gas heating, hot water or cooking appliances.

The average cost of gas you have used per day (incl. GST).
This shows that this is your last gas bill for this account at this service address. You will receive a final bill from us if you have closed your account, moved to another address or are no longer an EnergyAustralia customer.
