  • We hit a huge milestone with 500,000 accounts opted in to Go Neutral - and we think that’s something to smile about! Thanks to our customers opting in, 500,000 home energy accounts are carbon neutral.  That is 5 million tonnes of carbon emissions offset since we launched.

  • We announce that Yallourn coal fired power station will close in mid-2028, providing seven years’ advance notice to our employees and the community
  • We commit to building a four-hour utility-scale battery of 350MW capacity in Worreen, Victoria.
  • Our Tallawarra B project, Australia’s first carbon offset hydrogen and gas capable power plant, gets the green light to move ahead into construction.
  • We update our Climate Change Statement and our targets to reach net zero (scope one, two and three) greenhouse gas emissions by 2050; reduce direct carbon dioxide emissions by over 60% on 2019-2020 levels in 2028-2029; to transition out of coal assets by 2040
  • Our Managing Director Catherine Tanna retires, with Mark Collette becoming our Managing Director
  • We announce an investigation into a pumped hydro project at Lake Lyell near Lithgow in NSW.
  • Our employees reach a major milestone - donating $1 million to charities through workplace giving.

  • We launch our second Reconciliation Action Plan
  • We install 12 solar powered lights and security cameras in Yarra Park to enhance the safety and amenity for MCG visitors.
  • We join the Energy Charter as founding signatory: a world-first initiative bringing together Australian energy companies to improve customer service, affordability, reliability and sustainability.

  • We support Victoria’s first two large-scale battery storage facilities, with a combined capacity of 55MW and storage of 80MWh
  • We acquire Newport and Jeeralang gas-fired power stations in Victoria representing 940MW capacity
  • We scrap fees for paper bills for our customers
  • We close the gender pay gap in our organisation
  • We support the MCG in achieving an Australian first, with the stadium going carbon neutral for the month of September
